RICARDO LUQUE

Ricardo Luque was born in Venezuela, but has been living in Zagreb for 12 years now. He is a member of the Zagreb Philharmonic orchestra and the Zagreb woodwind ensemble. His instrument is the bassoon, but to the general public he is known as the ex-lead vocalist of the band "Cubismo", which he left after seven years of successful cooperation to dedicate himself to a solo career. He recorded his first solo album "Plena confianza", for the new independent label "Rocco & partner" end of 2004. on this album the vivid latino rhythms blend with intimate interpretations of some of South America's most beautiful songs. Free from the style frame of his ex-band, Ricardo turned back to his roots, and, in the best way possible, created an album dedicated to his childhood and the memory of his father. The years spent in studios, as well as in concert and club performances, provided Ricardo with a security which leaves a lot of space for an unbound interpretation and improvisation. During his rich career he has shared the stage with many important names of the latin music. Some of them are: Yolanda Duque (ex-singer of the Tito Puente's orchestra), George Makinto (ex-leadman of Miriam Makeba's orchestra), musicians of the "Buena Vista Social Club"- project: Manuel Licea Pontillita, Juan de Marcos Gonzales and Amadito Valdez, and also Teresa Garcia Caturla and El Tiburon Morales. Ricardo works with famous arrangers such as Joaquin Betancourt (Cuba), Jose Manuel Cerruto (Cuba) and Nelson Hernandez (Venezuela-New York).

Besides a series of concerts promoting his first solo album, there were also 2 videos shot ("Plena Confianza" and "Amor Mio") which rated high on most TV charts. In less than half of a year since the publishing of his first solo album, Ricardo took an important space in the media, and found his place among the most wanted
Croatian artists. With his publishers ("R&P") he has started to work on a new album, a compilation of duets with some of latin music's most famous lady singers from all over the world. The Cuban artist Jackeline Castellanos, called "the Lady of Son", was his first guest in the studio, as well as on a very successful Croatian tour this year. For now, the cooperation with famous Omara Portuondo (whom Ricardo met at her East-European tour this spring), the Spanish lady Maria Dolores Pradera and the Mexican Chavela Vargas are
planned. Recently, the famous world music label "Putumayo" published a compilation CD "Afro latin party" featuring a song "Morenita" from Mr. Luque's album "Junglesalsa" (2002.), from the time when he was still the leading vocal of the band "Cubismo".

At this moment Ricardo is preparing a big latin music and stage specatcle "Son del Barrio" with many international star guests participating in the project. From the older generations of the "Buena Vista Social Club" until the new generations of artists which should preform a journey through the history of the cuban - carribeean music.

SRĐAN GULIĆ GUL y MARLONES DO BRANDO

Gul is the quiet/ except when he sits behind the drums/ figure of our media and music scene. This member of cult groups such as "Haustor" and "Disciplina kičme", is less know as one of the
participants in the big radio-phonic turnarounds which at that time shook the grounds ofradio media. He was one of the "old ones" from the early radio 101. After the break-up of the group "Haustor" he dedicates his work into publishing and marketing business but doesnt quitwith his work on the music.. This project in whole is his. His are the lyrics and music, and besides the drum sections he decided to sing his songs by his own. The other members of this
group are as vel from othe well known bands but most of them cam together from the old group "Haustor". From that point of view we can call at this material as one of the possible reincarnations of that group.

On his first album Gul represents himself as the author, composer, drummer and singer of all the 12 tracks.

RATKO VOJTEK

Ratko Vojtek is a multiinstrumentalist without a doubt, but he is most famous as a clarinetist and bass-clarinetist (he gratuated and got his masters-degree at Zagreb Music Academy, and at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, today he is an active bass-clarinet soloist at the Zagreb philharmonic orchestra and the lead clarinetist of the Croatian chamber Music Orchestra). His musical curiosity led him to trying a wide range of music genres, and so in his career he dedicated himself to early music as seriously as to contemporary musical trends (Music Biennale Zagreb), as he is also attracted to jazz, world music and new age.

In this project he is accompanied by Boris Beštak, a percussionist and a member of numerous rock and jazz ensembles with the style range from dixieland through swing and bop to latin-rock and fussion. Today he leads the Sakamoto Chang ensamble (acid jazz-funk).
